Bruce Arena and the New England Revolution are with an entirely different lineup than what we’ve seen previously this season tonight vs. Real Salt Lake.
“There will be some turnover, for sure,” Arena said on Friday afternoon. “Exactly what that will be, we’ll obviously finalize that tomorrow. But we’ll have some changes.”
New England Revolution lineup vs. Real Salt Lake
GK: EARL EDWARDS JR.
DEF: RYAN SPAULDING, ANDREW FARRELL, JON BELL, AJ DELAGARZA
MID: WILFRID KAPTOUM, MACIEL, TOMMY MCNAMARA, EMMANUEL BOATENG, ARNÓR TRAUSTASON
FWD: ADAM BUKSA
Revolution lineup notes
The Revs are clearly resting the stars due to the large amount of games in a short period of time. Buksa and Farrell are the only two solidified starter field players getting the start tonight.
The likes of Gil, Bou, Bye, Jones, and Polster will all sit on the bench to start. Spaulding makes his first appearance at left-back, while DeLagarza holds down the other side.
McNamara will play the CAM role underneath the striker. Boateng and Traustason are placed at the two wings to Buksa’s sides. It should be an interesting one tonight against Real Salt Lake, in snowy conditions yet again, to say the least. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET.
