The Boston Celtics picked up a huge road win on Sunday night with a dominant performance over the Denver Nuggets, as Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for 60 points.

The first 18 minutes of play were tightly contested with both teams making plays and it seemed like this game might be a battle all night long. That’s when the Celtics started to take over.

They began to suffocate the Nuggets offense and used that energy to start dominating on the offensive end. A four-point Celtics lead with seven minutes to go in the half quickly ballooned to 25 by the end of the quarter.

The Nuggets did show some fight and managed to cut into the lead, but were never able to make a serious push to concern the Celtics. Dominant performances from Both Tatum and Brown stopped the Nuggets’ comeback attempt and propelled the Celtics to a big win.

Both players finished with 30 points on less than 20 shot attempts for the second straight game. This also marks the sixth time the duo have both surpassed the 30-point mark in a game this season, a new franchise record. The record was previously held by the Hall of Fame duo of Larry Bird and Kevin McHale.

Payton Pritchard provided a great spark off the bench and finished with 17 points on a perfect 6-for-6 from the field. This is the second game in a row that he scored in double-figures on perfect shooting.

Following tonight’s win, Boston is now 22-14 against teams with a winning record which is second to only the league-best Phoenix Suns. The Celtics have now won 21 of their last 24 games and will look to finish their road trip with a 4-0 record as they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. ET.
