NHL Trade Deadline: Bruins Sign Jake DeBrusk to 2-Year Extension, Likely Setting Up a Trade

Bruins

The Boston Bruins have signed first-line winger Jake DeBrusk to a two-year extension, the team announced, which could potentially set up a trade. DeBrusk requested a trade earlier in the year, and the extension comes just hours before the NHL Trade Deadline.

The 25-year-old in DeBrusk, who was set to become a restricted free agent this offseason, will receive an AAV of $4 million. The extension makes it even more likely that DeBrusk will be traded today at the deadline, which is at 3 p.m. ET.

DeBrusk has 15 goals and 11 assists this season, and his experience on Boston’s first line this season could pose as a potential resume booster for DeBrusk.
