The Boston Red Sox finally fell in a Spring Training affair, as the Twins beat the Sox 10-4 in the Battle of Fort Myers Wednesday afternoon following a disastrous fifth and eighth inning for Boston. Though Nathan Eovaldi did toss a perfect four innings for the Sox.
- The only means of run production for Boston was a solo shot for Rafael Devers and a three-run blast from the red-hot Ryan Fitzgerald
- Alex Verdugo, Xander Bogaerts, David Hamilton, Kiké Hernandez, Connor Wong, and Jackie Bradley Jr. had hits as well
—
- Eovaldi fanned six over his four frames
- Ryan Brasier followed that with four runs let up in the fifth though, which included a three-run big fly
- Connor Seabold — who didn’t even record an out — let up three walks and a pair of doubles before Tyler Danish came in for relief in the eighth, and a sac fly and a double let three more runs come through
- Danish hurled a scoreless ninth, finishing his day with two total innings after getting all three outs in the eighth, in relief of Seabold
Boston will take on the Orioles tomorrow at 6:05 p.m. ET, in the first night affair of Spring for the Sox. Nick Pivetta will take the mound.
