Celtics Injury Report: Al Horford Out, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown Probable vs. Timberwolves

Celtics

The Boston Celtics will be shorthanded Sunday night as they’ll be without Al Horford against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the team announced, and it may be even more difficult for the C’s as there’s a slight chance Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum will be out — though unlikely.

Brown (right knee soreness) and Tatum (right patella tendinopathy) are both listed as probable, while Horford (personal reasons) is out. Minnesota’s Malik Beasley (ankle sprain) will also be out for tonight’s affair.

Grant Williams will likely be getting the opportunity to start for Boston at the 4, alongside big man Robert Williams at the 5. It’s not known whether he’ll be available for Monday’s contest against the Raptors as well in the second half of a back-to-back.

Rest might be the reason for a potential absence of Brown and or Tatum, though it wouldn’t be very reasonable considering Boston is just 0.5 games out of first place in the Eastern Conference.

The Celtics will seek their sixth straight win as they host the T-Wolves with tipoff being at 6:00 p.m. ET.
